Decide what products or services you want to market — which company you want to sign up with. You really need to be passionate about your product and use it yourself. You will have a difficult time marketing a product if you don’t have a personal testimony about how wonderful it is.

Know your product inside out. What are it’s benefits? How can it help others?

Know your competition. What are they offering? Why is your product better than theirs?

Write a prospecting and closing script. How are you going to present your product?

Your company will most likely provide you with a company web site. This is fine to start with but you will want to build a personal web site as well to establish yourself as the expert on whatever you are offering.

Design multiple Data Capture pages. These pages will provide you with people interested in hearing about your business.

Market yourself and your business – both online and offline.

Currently, I own four businesses, three of which I run out of my home. One of my companies is Lexia Candle Scents, through which I conduct fundraisers for schools, churches, sports groups, corporations, non-profit groups, anyone needing to raise money. Previously, I was a teacher for grades 6-8 as well as a corporate trainer for Prudential Insurance. Prior to training and teaching, my family owned four donut shops. My primary responsibility was bookkeeping, payroll and benefits.
